Convergence

417 · Sevran

What has been mixed into this?

Year 417 — the year everything mixed. Rifts redraw the city's geography daily, and the great clock stands stopped at 4:17. The months pass but the year refuses to change, and one last scribe keeps recording it alone.

Season 1 “The Convergence and the Vanished Observation Point”

Sevran, the last scribe of the Record House, follows the riddle of Milte's handwriting — "4:17" — as it surfaces around the town. The rift holds still exactly once, and the recorder writes it down as "coincidence; requires verification". That something is wrong with the notebook is noticed only by the reader.

  1. OpeningThe question of what tool cut the letters into the wooden post, and when.
  2. DevelopmentHow Hum could recite from a book that does not exist — and recite something about Milte.
  3. TurnWhy Milte struck out her own hypothesis with a double line.
  4. CrisisWhether to follow the directions on Milte's map and wait for 4:17 in front of a dangerous rift.
  5. ResolutionA strike-through he does not remember drawing. Sevran filed it as a slip of his own pen.

Season 2 “The Echoes of 4:17”

Sevran investigates the connection between unnatural strikethroughs in his journal and Milte's handwriting appearing across the city. As Hum begins reciting future records and the grand clock briefly moves, Sevran faces a phenomenon where the records themselves are forcefully rewritten back to 4:17.

  1. OpeningThe authenticity of the unreached date, the 3rd of the Month of Mist, recited by Hum.
  2. DevelopmentThe connection between Milte's notes appearing across the city and the newly blocked paths.
  3. TurnThe alteration of past official records and the acquisition of the blue ink prophesied by Hum.
  4. CrisisThe grand clock's hand that briefly moved, and Milte's relics trapped in the closing archive.
  5. ResolutionThe origin of the blue ink that overwrote the pencil entry, and the sudden silence of Hum.
