An age of a war 383 years long. Only the unarmed reclaimers in their white cloaks may cross the lines, returning the belongings of the dead to their families. Things tell lives through scars and mended seams, and reading a relic has become an art of mourning.

Season 1 “The Fracture War, Season One”

Kaya carries three relics over a pass the snow is closing, to Haruna, where a mother is waiting. On the road she comes into new physical evidence about her brother's death, and she goes into her first winter still holding the lie she told that mother.

Season 2 “The Letter of the Closed Pass”

Trapped in Haruna Village by an early snow, Kaya secretly searches for the recipient of a letter bearing the same unit stamp as her brother's. After conducting investigations in the village and evading a military search, she delivers the letter to its family, only for the mystery to deepen as she heads back to the Burnt Bridge where Dari awaits.
