What omen is this?
A prehistory without writing. People have not yet named the things around them — the things speak first. The Listeners of the Sana catch what may be voices or omens, and the world is remembered only by word of mouth.
Season 1 “Primordial Silence”
The sudden death of the previous Listener leaves the succession rite hanging, and Uta faces Gald's distrust and a crisis in the clan at the same time. A find in forbidden ground carries her through the crisis, but the succession is deferred, and the riddle of the bone comb is handed on.

Uta is pressed by Gald to prove her worth as a temporary Listener. Through a false oracle, an unexpected tribal threat, and the accidental shattering of the Singing Stone, the tension over her succession remains unresolved while introducing a new mystery.
